For campers, caravanners and motorhome owners, warm sunny weather can make a trip away feel perfect. Dry pitches, longer evenings and more time outdoors are all great reasons to pack up and get away.
However, too much heat can bring problems. Tents, caravans and motorhomes can quickly become uncomfortable, fridges may struggle, and sleeping can be difficult on very warm nights.
It is also important to stay safe. Drink plenty of water, use sunscreen and never leave children or pets inside a parked vehicle. Take extra care with barbecues and open flames, especially when the ground is very dry, and always follow campsite fire rules.
Check your tyres, keep food properly chilled and try to find a shaded pitch where possible.
The sunshine can certainly be a blessing, but with a little preparation and common sense, it does not have to become a curse.
